The Japan Society of Fairfield County and the James J. Clinton VFW Post 399 present a tribute to Japanese Americans who served during WWII. On July 15, 1946, President Harry Truman welcomed home the 442 Regimental Combat Team/100 Infantry to the White House. “You fought the enemy abroad and you fought prejudice at home and you won. Keep up that fight and we will continue to win.”

Catherine will share letters from Japanese American soldiers who served in France.

VFW Post 399 was established by WWI veterans in 1920. These veterans named Post 399 for their comrade, Private Joseph J. Clinton, who was killed in France just four days before the Armistice. To learn more about the Joseph J. Clinton Post 399, please review their website https://vfw399ct.org/.
